Summary

For the first time Riga Technical University
(RTU) invites PhD students to attend multidisciplinary
Summer School "Technology
Transfer and Product Design" from August 18 –
22, 2014.

Event will take place in Cēsis in Riga Technical
University affiliate. Cēsis is city with rich
history and a lot of historical site seeing
possibilities. Program includes possibilities for
cultural events.

This 5 day Summer School aims to bring
together PhD students from different fields and
enterprises to solve a real life problems or
propose new approach and develop more than
idea.

The main program will consist of lectures by
some of the best RTU lectures, guest speakers
and representatives from the field to
strengthen theoretical knowledge. In addition
there will be workshops together with
representatives from enterprises to develop
practical models.

The course focuses on bringing together PhD
students of different fields to encourage
productive knowledge sharing and idea
development in cooperation with industry
representatives.

The aim of this Summer School is to present the
developed ideas to the enterprises that will
decide upon continuation of idea development
in future.

The most comprehensive ideas will have the
chance to carry out the idea in RTU Design
Factory.

In addition program includes presentations and
of a project developed in cooperation with
enterprises during the course.

Participation fees
PhD students: 75 € (exception of RTU
students: 50 €).

Included in participation fee:
• 3 meals in a day + coffee breaks
• Transportation (Rīga – Cēsis – Rīga)
• Accommodation from August 18 – 23
• Materials
• 3 Course Credits (ECTS)
• Certificate of Attendance
