Application procedure
 

1. The applicant sends scanned copies of the application documents to the Centre for International Affairs, Foreign Citizens Division via international@uni-svishtov.bg.

2. Upon approval by the Foreign Citizens Division, the applicant pays document-processing fee by bank transfer to the following bank account:

3. The applicant sends the full package of the original documents by regular mail to the following postal address:

4.1. Foreign Citizens Division sends the applicant’s documents to the Committee for Academic Recognition of Higher Education Acquired at Foreign Universities (CARHEAFU). The Committee sends an email or fax request for diploma verification to the higher education institution that issued the diploma.

4.2. In case of no reply from the higher education institution, the request is forwarded to the National Centre for Information and Documentation (NACID).

4.3. The decision on diploma recognition is taken by the Rector on a proposal from the CARHEAFU.

5.1. If the applicant applies for part-time, distance learning or unsupervised programme, there is no need for visa D issuance. After the decision on diploma recognition is taken, the applicant is accepted into preferred programme at the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics.

5.2. In case the applicant applies for full-time programmes and if there is a need for visa D issuance. After the verification of applicant’s diploma legitimacy, the Foreign Citizens Division sends the applicant’s documents to the Bulgarian Ministry of Education for review and approval. The review period takes from two weeks up to a month. In case the recognition is proceeded after the beginning of the summer semester of the respective academic year, the applicant’s documents will be proceeded for the next academic year.

6.1. Upon approval, the Bulgarian Ministry of Education issues a certificate.

6.2. In case the Bulgarian Ministry of Education needs additional documents or endorsements, it rejects the application and sends a message to the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics with an explanation of the reasons for not issuing the certificate. The applicant may amend their application documents and re-submit them for review after the application deadline.

7. After receiving an approval by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education, the Foreign Citizens Division issues a document certifying that the applicant is accepted into the preferred programme at the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics.

8. The Foreign Citizens Division sends the applicants the original documents specified in pt 6.1 and pt 7 necessary for visa D application.

9. The applicant personally submits the documents for visa D application in the diplomatic or consular missions of the Republic of Bulgaria in their own country of birth.

10. Upon visa D issuance approval the applicant must pay the fee for language and specialised preparatory course or tuition fee for the preferred programme by bank transfer to the following bank account:
