Dear alumni, friends and supporters of the Academy of Economics,
On the 8th of November 2026, D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics in Svishtov celebrates its 90th anniversary.
Each year, on this significant date, we gather before the Donor’s monument to express our deep respect and bow in reverence to the unparalleled patriotism and visionary spirit of a great Bulgarian - Dimitar Apostolov Tsenov.
Our benefactor bestowed upon us far more than a higher education institution. He bestowed upon us a cause! Therefore, all of us who belong to the academic family of our beloved Alma Mater - and all who revere knowledge and education - should commit ourselves to advancing the Academy of Economics and make its advancement our personal mission. Amid the turbulence of the challenging times in which we live, we will continue to uphold the Academy’s position as a strong and unified institution with financial and human resources potential at a European level.
The Academy of Economics’ continuous progress is due to all who care for its well-being and contribute to its prosperity. Together, we have the necessary capacity to restore its position as a leading educational and scientific institution. We have the most important asset - motivated and erudite lecturers, respected scholars, and responsible individuals for whom knowledge, development, and the interests of students are core values and a mark of high professionalism. Over the years of its existence, the Academy has built a community of more than 160,000 alumni as its ambassadors whose outstanding knowledge and professional achievements preserve and enhance its reputation!
To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics to be held on the 8th of November this year, its Management has adopted an Event Calendar, which includes a wide range of scientific conferences, seminars, round tables, exhibitions, concerts, sports tournaments, etc. The implementation of these initiatives will allow the academic community to appropriately express their pride and honor in being a worthy successor not only to the legacy of its Benefactor but also to the generation of scholars, distinguished economists, and public figures who devoted all their creative and human energy, as well as their talent, to the existence and prosperity of our academy.
Due to the generous contributions of our benefactors, D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics, through the Tsenov Foundation, is able to pursue a targeted social policy for its students, which includes the provision of full or partial reimbursements of semester tuition fees, affordable rates for student dormitories, and, whenever feasible, covering the full cost of accommodation.
