The master’s degree program "Financial Management" has been gaining more popularity among the international students

The academic year 2022/2023 is marked by a peak of interest in the Master’s Degree Programme in Financial Management taught in English and developed by the Department of Finance and Credit at D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics. Among the students attending the full-time mode of the programme are Furkan Erçetin, Gamze Sever and Hazal Çavuş from the Republic of Turkey, Kseniia Gerasimova and Ruslan Kostochka from the Russian Federation, Mohammad Araiqat from Palestine, Oleksandr Matushevskyi, Anastasiia Rizhova, Denys Lobur and Dmytro Bryzhatov from Ukraine. Together with the students under the Erasmus+ program, they are part of about 100 foreign undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students who shape the modern international image of the Academy of Economics together with its Erasmus+ Charter for activities in the period 2021-2027 approved by the Rector, Prof. Mariyana Bozhinova, PhD. The Charter provides both students and staff with the opportunity to participate in short- and long-term academic exchange programmes approved by the European Commission.

Since its establishment in 2012, the Master's Degree Programme in English has been supervised by Prof. Andrey Zahariev, PhD. Secretaries of the programme are Chief Assistant Professor Taner Ismailov, PhD - for students from the Republic of Turkey, Assoc. Prof. Alexander Ganchev, PhD  - for students from the Russian Federation and Palestine, and Chief Assistant Dimitar Kostov, PhD – for students from Ukraine studying under the double-diploma programme in International Financial Management. The full-time programme is accredited by NEAA for both economists and non-economists and is offered for 2, 3 (for a "double degree") or 4 semesters. A distance-learning mode of the programme for economists (60 ECTS credits) is accredited as well and over the last twelve years has been attended by more than 100 students. The admission of foreign students at D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics is actively supported by the Centre for International Affairs headed by Assoc. Prof. Marusya Smokova, PhD (Director) and Assoc. Prof. Karina Sarkisyan, PhD (Coordinator).

Within the framework of the state policy for admission of foreign students for the academic year 2022/2023, the tuition for D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics was set to EUR 800 per semester. Students are provided with accommodation in renovated dormitories at preferential prices. Every student is given free access to the English-language version of the Svishtov students' digital learning platform dl.uni-svishtov.bg and to most of the study aids available in full-text format (as pdf files) through the open science platform ResearchGate (Finance and Banking Lab). Each student in Financial Management is provided with a free printed set of the principal academic courses in English developed by Prof. Stoyan Prodanov, Prof. Stefan Simeonov, Prof. Andrey Zahariev, Prof. Yordan Vasilev, Assoc. Prof. Plamen Patev, Associate Prof. Anelia Radulova and others.

Having passed all required exams and showing solid knowledge and excellent competence, the Master’s Degree students will commence their studies in the spring semester on 20 Feb. 2023. According to the curriculum schedule, the summer exam session will be held during the 17th Festival of Ancient Heritage Eagle on the Danube  (8th through 11th June 2023). The social program for the foreign students at D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics will include training in the re-enacted gladiator school of the First Italian Legion for the male students and training in ancient dances and rituals with the Orpheus and Eurydice group of the Tourism Council of Svishtov for the female students.
