The Department of Strategic Planning honored the best essays in the ‘My Vision for My Future’ student competition

The Department of Strategic Planning at the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics (Svishtov, Bulgaria) has finalized another edition of the departmental student essay competition, which has become a platform for academic expression and conceptual thinking. This year’s topic - ‘My Vision for My Future’ - resonated inspiringly among the student community, generating unprecedented activity with the participation of 153 young talents from various educational degrees and fields: 112 Bachelor students (undergraduate degree), of which 44 in the ‘Project Management’ specialty, 41 in ‘Public Administration’, and 27 others; 41 Master students (graduate degree), including 15 in the ‘Project Management’ specialty, 19 in ‘Public Administration’, and 7 in ‘Educational Management’.
The main aim of the competition was to provoke students’ capacity for strategic self-determination and critical analysis, stimulating them to define their existential and professional vectors in the context of permanently transforming global environment.
The competition’s jury consisting of Assoc. Prof. Mihail Chipriyanov, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Hristo Sirashki, PhD, Head Assist. Prof. Nadezhda Veselinova, PhD, and Head Assist. Prof. Yuliyan Gospodinov, PhD (main organizer of the event) was faced with the difficult task of ranking the best students’ essays. The evaluation process was based on strictly defined set of criteria:

  • Innovation and conceptual originality;
  • Analytical depth and strategic argumentation;
  • Stylistic perfection and high linguistic precision.

The members of the departmental council commented: ‘The expressiveness and high degree of thoughtfulness demonstrated in the submitted 153 essays are an unequivocal testament to the intellectual integrity and ambition of our students. The selection of the laureates was a complex process of distinguishing high achievements, which fills us with optimism for the future of our academic community’.
         Awarded in the Bachelor degree:
1st place - Dimitar Dinkov, ‘Project Management’, 4th grade;
2nd place - Victoria Borisova, ‘Economics of Commerce’, 4th grade;
3rd place - Detelin Kirchev, ‘Public Administration’, 3rd grade.
         Awarded in the Master degree:
1st place - Bilyana Boteva, ‘Project Management’, 1st grade;
2nd place - Tsvetomira Peneva, ‘Public Administration’, 1st grade;
3rd place - Valentin Ivanov, ‘Educational Management’, 1st grade.
In recognition of the demonstrated creativity and unconventional approach, the department awarded six additional special awards for innovative views on future management and social paradigms. In the Bachelor degree, the winners are Hristina Velkova (‘Project Management’, 2nd grade), Stoycho Stoev (‘Project Management’, 2nd grade), and Dinka Makaveeva (‘Public Administration’, 1st grade), and in the Master degree: Kristiyan Tanev (‘Public Administration’, 1st grade), Plamena Mitkova (‘Public Administration’, 1st grade), and Yoana Georgieva (‘Project Management’, 1st grade).
