The D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov hosted the Second Workshop of the project ROBG00251 Cross-Border Youth Safety and Inclusion: Modernizing Training Facilities and Developing a Comprehensive Good Practices Guide (проектен акроним CBYSI), INTERREG VI-A Romania – Bulgaria 2021-2027 Programme, Contract No. 183382/18.08.2025
The three-day workshop, held from 4 to 6 March 2026, brought together 15 experts from the project’s partner institutions: 5 experts from the Dolj County Police Inspectorate, 5 experts from the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov, and 5 experts from the Dolj County School Inspectorate.
The discussions focused on the conceptual foundations of the joint training program, covering key aspects of youth safety, personal development, and social responsibility.
During the workshop, participants worked intensively, turning theoretical analyses into practical tools. The main achievements included:
- Identifying key competencies;
- Developing pedagogical approaches based on active participation, non-formal education, and experiential learning;
- Structuring a comprehensive training program, including four courses tailored to target groups and educational levels;
- Integrating monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure the quality and sustainability of the program.
The result is a practical and applicable program that can be implemented and adapted to the real needs of young people on both sides of the Danube.
The workshop highlighted the importance of collaboration between institutional, educational, and academic partners:
- Dolj County Police Inspectorate – providing practical and institutional perspectives on prevention and security;
- D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov – providing academic and methodological expertise;
- Dolj County School Inspectorate – ensuring alignment with the education system and adapting the program to students’ real needs.

This partnership is extremely valuable for the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov. The project brings together institutions from Romania and Bulgaria around the common goal of creating safer and more sustainable conditions for the development of young people in the cross-border region. Within the framework of the project, joint trainings, educational initiatives, and awareness-raising campaigns are implemented, aimed at preventing risky behavior and fostering a culture of responsibility and civic engagement among young people.
For the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov, participation in this project means active involvement of faculty and students in an international expert environment, participation in trainings and joint events, as well as the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to solving real societal challenges.
