On the eve of the remarkable 90th anniversary of the founding of D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics - Svishtov, the Department of Strategic Planning is celebrating a historic achievement. With an actual increase of more than 62% in the number of students admitted to Bachelor's degree programs, the current team has achieved the best result in the department's 71-year history. This impressive growth is evidence that the department not only preserves its traditions but also boldly shapes its future, establishing itself as a symbol of academic resilience and innovation.
The Department of Strategic Planning holds a unique position within the structure of the Academy - it is the only department offering Bachelor's degree programs in two professional fields:
- Professional Field “Economics”, with the “Project Management” degree program - fundamental to the contemporary business and institutional sectors.
- Professional Field “Administration and Management”, with the “Public Administration” degree program - providing high-quality professional training for the national and local public sectors.
Both degree programs enjoy exceptionally strong demand, fully responding to the dynamics of the labor market.
The most noticeable growth in the current campaign has been registered in paid forms of education - part-time and distance learning. This success is a direct result of the department’s outstanding digital and web resources, which provide students with a modern information environment, flexibility, and access to high-quality interactive learning content.
The department’s sustained progress is built upon the legacy of visionary scholars and leaders from its recent past, including Prof. D.Sc. Dimitar Panayotov and Assoc. Prof. Nedelcho Mitev, PhD. Today, their legacy is carried forward by a motivated, highly educated, and highly qualified team of nine scholars and lecturers, dedicated to the mission of shaping the next generation of leaders.
