Presentation of the Alumni Club IER before Class of 2005
On October 18, 2025 (Saturday), the Alumni Club IER organized an information meeting to present its activities to the Tsenov Academy of Economics’ International Economic Relations class of 2005. The meeting took place in the Rectorate Conference Hall (the former student cafe Salve, as the representatives of the class probably remember it).
Assoc. Prof. Dragomir Iliev, member of the Board of the club and head of the department of the same name, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the Alumni Club. Assoc. Prof. Iliev told the guests what was behind the idea of creating a club of graduates of specialties at the department; the activities and events organized during the 14 years of its existence; the successful trainings to support the career development of students; the opportunities for partnership and joint activities

СThe Secretary of the Alumni Club IER and Scientific Secretary of the Department, Head Assistant Ivaylo Petrov, showed the process of accepting new members. All students or doctoral candidates who have successfully completed their studies in any of the educational degrees at the Department of International Economic Relations of the Svishtov Academy may apply to the Club's electronic register at alumnimio.club.
Mr. Petrov presented the department's new bachelor's degree program International Business taught entirely in English; he also spoke about the department's student conference, ongoing for 29 consecutive years, which some of the guests had attended as students. The opportunity for practicing specialists who are members of the Alumni club to participate and publish a scientific paper in co-authorship with students in the electronic journal of the conference "Global and Regional Dimensions of International Economic Relations" was welcomed with interest..

Prof. Karim Naama also shared his memories teaching the students from the class. Together with Assoc. Prof. Iliev in 2005, the two led a visit of some of the students to the Arab Republic of Egypt, a pre-graduate internship at the partner Suez Canal University in the city of Ismailia. Assoc. Prof. Iliev surprised the guests with photos from this visit, as well as with photographs from the graduation ball of the class.

The presentation of the Alumni Club was in addition to the reunion organized on the evening of October 18th on the occasion of 20 years since the graduation of International Economic Relations’ Class of 2005.
