D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics - Svishtov hosted the opening conference of the project ROBG00299 "PROMoting IncluSivE and Quality Education through Technology, Leadership and Sport – Hard" (PROMISE-Hard)

On November 19, 2025, the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics in Svishtov hosted the opening conference of the project "PROMoting IncluSivE and Quality Education through Technology, Leadership and Sport – Hard" (PROMISE-Hard), with the acronym ROBG00299.
The event marked the start of activities under the project, which aims to improve the skills and competences of students and graduates through a variety of extracurricular initiatives such as training courses, seminars, summer schools, conferences, and career fairs. The partners in the implementation of the project are the University of Craiova, the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov, and the Engage in Education Association, which will also work to create two innovative educational infrastructures in Bulgaria and Romania.

The event was attended by the rector of the Tsenov Academy of Economics, Assoc. Prof. Marin Marinov, as well as representatives of the academic management, professors, students, and staff. The official guests from Romania were Prof. Nicu George Bizdoaca, Project Manager, Vice-Rector for Structural Funds and Digitalization at the University of Craiova, Lect. Mihaela Tinca Udristioiu - Communications Manager, PROMISE-Hard project, and Daniel Militaru - Chairman of the Engage in Education Association. They took an active part in the event program and in the presentation of the main highlights of the initiative.
In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Marinov welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the project for the development of students and the strengthening of cross-border cooperation in the field of education. He highlighted the active role of the Academy since the preparation stage of the project and the strategic value of the upcoming activities.

In the presentations that followed, Assoc. Prof. Aleksandrina Aleksandrova, project lead for the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics, presented the main activities, expected results, and role of the University of National and World Economy in the implementation of the project. Prof. Bizdoaca outlined the overall concept of PROMISE-Hard, its objectives, and its contribution to improving access to quality education. Assoc. Prof. Taner Ismailov drew attention to the importance of interaction between universities, business, and the non-governmental sector for the development of the labour market in the cross-border region. The program continued with a presentation by Lect. Mihaela Tinca Udristioiu, who emphasized the role of extracurricular activities in the process of career guidance and development of students.
The event ended with a discussion session, during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the next steps in the implementation of the project.
