D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics Svishtov implements a project “A chance for development”, under the INTERREG V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme, Contract №16.4.2.087/e-MS code ROBG-176.

Specific objective 4.1: To encourage the integration of the cross-border area in terms of employment and labour mobility

Total project net eligible budget: 648 094,73 euro.
The project implementation is funded by: European Regional Development Fund - 550880,52 euro; total state co-financing - 84252,31 euro, that includes 66248,10 euro from Romanian state and 18004,21 euro from Bulgarian state; partners’ own contribution - 12961,90 euro.
“A chance for development” project aims to increase the employability by developing professional skills and providing effective communication between the employers and the unemployed, actively searching for a job, in the regions of Dolj, Vidin and Veliko Tarnovo.
Main objective: Increase the employability and professional mobility of people in search of employment in Dolj, Vidin and Svishtov. Its priority is the inclusion in the labour market of students and university graduates of the region of implementation of the project.
Target group - youth from project implementation regions, including:
- students without Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degree;
- university graduates with Bachelor, Master and doctoral degree, actively searching for a job;
- unemployed, actively searching for a job.

Activity 4. Setting up of a Romanian-Bulgarian career and recruitment center
Activity 5. Professional training courses
Activity 6. Study visits of the target group members to socio-economic units in Romania and Bulgaria
Activity 7. Designing an interactive website for facilitating communication between employers and job-seekers
Activity 8. Organising of a job fair
Activity 9. Conferences on the topic of sustainable development and the increase employment levels in the cross-border region
Activity 10. Project management
Expected results:
14 initiatives (12 courses, 1 web site, 2 job fairs), 400 participants in joint local employment initiatives, 300 participants in joint education and training programmes.
This project aims to increase the employability degree of the target group by offering opportunities for obtaining professional competences required by the labour market. The target group will get quality professional courses and trainings provided by university professors in the highest technological and economic fields: Optics and Optometry, Radiotherapy, Pollution and protection of the environment, Accoustics and audiometry, IT, foreign languages, Project management, Entrepreneurship, Human resources, Communication.
The study visits in a real work environment will increase beneficiaries’ practical skills and employability. Students from the Physical Faculty of Craiova University will visit Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant as a final part of the training process.
In order to assist the unemployed in their job search in the area that matches their specialization, within the project implementation will be established a Romanian-Bulgarian career and recruitment centre.
