Virtual Computer Department "John Atanasov" and Virtual Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies
All forms of electronic education are widely employed at the Academy of Economics. These forms are included in the National Computing Department "John Atanasov" on the initiative of the Association of Computer Systems and Information Technologies, supported by the Agency for Development of the Information and Communication Technologies at the Ministry of Transport and Communications http://ecet.ecs.ru.acad.bg/vkk-jatanasoff. The main tasks of the department are connected with the intensive introduction and use of information and communication technologies and Web-based education in the training of specialists with higher education. The Academy of Economics is also a main participant in the Virtual Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies, founded in 2003. By now the faculty includes 3 virtual departments: Virtual Department of Informatics, Virtual Computing Department “John Atanasov” and Virtual Department of Communication Technique and Technologies. Department of "Social Sciences" The "Social Sciences" Department is created under an Academic Senate decision in accordance with the Law of higher education and includes the chairs of "Foreign Languages" and "Physical Education and Sports". The department's existence and entire activity are the result of the consistent policy of the executive body of the Academy for foreign language education and sports as an indispensable part of the modern educational technologies and qualifications. The department provides the students and all faculties and specialties with modern and effective training in a chosen subject (a foreign language or a kind of sport) with the professional help of about 40 lecturers and trainers. After fulfilling the requirements of the curriculum, the students can continue their optional training until they obtain the desired degree of qualification. |
