Faculty of Production and Commercial Business
The "Production and Commercial Business" faculty was created in 1991 with a resolution of the Academy Senate at "D. A. Tsenov " Academy of Economics.
The main structures in the faculty are the departments of "Economy and Management of Industry", "Economy of Agriculture", "Commercial Business" (www.uni-svishtov.bg/targovia), "History, Philosophy and Sociology", "Lawand Ecology".
The faculty priories are the following: education of students and post-graduates in all forms of educational documentation, which optimizes the theoretic and pragmatic aspects of the economic training of specialists, matching the European and national standards; creation of a scientific environment for the making and progress of a knowledgeable academic staff to carry out the educational process; scientific researches, pragmatic and consulting activity; stimulation of the creative and investigative thinking of the students in mastering economic knowledge and teamwork, in working out scientific practical problems.
Students at the faculty are awarded "bachelor" and "Ph.D." degrees in the following subjects: "Economy of Industry ", "Economy of Agriculture", "Economy of Trade" and "Economy of Cooperatives". The academic staff at the faculty participates in the education of the students in other subjects in the three educational degrees at the Academy.
A characteristic feature of the faculty's specialties is the specialized economic education aimed at the acquisition of knowledge, the development of skills and practical habits for work in the main sectors the economy industry, agriculture, trade and cooperatives.
After graduation students can have a successful career in other spheres of the economy as well.
The economic training of the students is aimed at: organization, optimization and management of the production, marketing, advertising and financial activity of businesses; the investment, innovative and enterprising policy of the business establishments; the accounting, statistical and operative informational providing of firm managers and outside consumers of information; control and analysis of the production processes and financial results; the planning and forecasting of economic processes; the development of business plans and providing proof of projects for crediting and financing of the activities of enterprises; the risk factors in economy; the legal problems, both European and national legislation; the behaviour of enterprises in the competitive environment of a market economy.
